چکیده

This research aims to evaluate the presence and distribution of pesticides in Babolrood River of Mazandaran Province in Iran. Mean diazinon levels in surface water ranged from 77.6 to 101.6 μg L(-1) with maximum level of 768.9 μg L(-1) and mean malathion levels ranged from 55.7 to 75.9 μg L(-1) with maximum level of 506.6 μg L(-1). The residues of malathion and diazinon pesticides in all of the stations, 2 weeks after spraying, were more than allowed limits.

Recent Advances in the Treatment of Organophosphorous Poisonings

Organophosphorous compounds have been employed as pesticides and chemical warfare nerve agents. Toxicity of organophosphorous compounds is a result of excessive cholinergic stimulation through inhibition of acetyl cholinesterase. Clinical manifestations include cholinergic syndromes, central nervous system and cardiovascular disorders. Organophosphorous pesticide poisonings are common in develo...

Development of Phytoremediation Techniques Using the Interactive Potential of Plant and Microbial Activities for the Degradation of the Pesticides Hexachlorocyclohexane and Atrazine

Organophosphorous and organochlorine pesticides, which were banned or restricted in the US and in Europe years ago, are still applied in India to control pests affecting pulses and wheat. Their simple application, efficacy, and economic return may explain the popularity of these pesticides in Indian agriculture. Unfortunately, organophosphorous and organochlorine pesticides are in general very ...

Biosensor for direct determination of fenitrothion and EPN using recombinant Pseudomonas putida JS444 with surface-expressed organophosphorous hydrolase. 2. Modified carbon paste electrode.

A whole cell-based amperometric biosensor for highly selective, sensitive, rapid, and cost-effective determination of the organophosphate pesticides fenitrothion and ethyl p-nitrophenol thio-benzene phosphonate (EPN) is discussed. The biosensor comprised genetically engineered p-nitrophenol (PNP)-degrading bacteria Pseudomonas putida JS444 anchoring and displaying organophosphorous hydrolase (O...

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy studies of organophosphorous model molecules and pesticides.

This work reports the analytical application of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) in the trace analysis of organophosphorous pesticides (trichlorfon and glyphosate) and model organophosphorous compounds (dimethyl methylphosphonate and o-ethyl methylphosphonothioate) bearing different functional groups. SERS measurements were carried out using Ag nanocubes with an edge square dimension ...
